Mining memorial hall

Aiming to preserve the traditional mining heritage and develop the tourist offer of the less-developed borderline area of Medimurje, TEAM Ltd. management decided to initiate a project to restore the old coal separator.

Being the owner of the facility with such historical value,  we have set a goal to restore and protect the separator, and perform a conversion of the same into a "Spomen dom rudarstva" ( Mining memorial hall )

To be a miner required a lot of quality's: fearlessness, bravery, dedication, solidarity and diligence. They spend their days in dark and cold, wet and stuffy mining pits, daily exposed to various dangers, and after a hard shift, oftenly starved and chilled, they would walk for 5 kilometers to their homes. Their bread was bitter, but thanks to our miners our bread today is a lot sweeter.

The fact that our town wears the name ''Town of the miners'' states how big is the significance of the miners. As a sign of appriciation to miners for all of their hard work, we decided to preserve the momory of mining days and boldly started a big project of preservation, protection and promotion of  the mining heritage.

The only object from period of mining is the old mine separator. It was used for cleaning coal from ground and coal classification. This old object we have converted into the Mining memorial hall. Mining memorial hall is divided into two parts: mining and old Medimurje house.

In the complex dedecated to mining you can see glazed hoppers for coal classification, mining tools, old photographs, various files sorted in managers office, and visit the multimedial space where mining storys are projected. Old Medimurje room shows the life of the miners within 4 walls of his home.
